Belmullet Gneiss Rock, Naghas Bhéal an Mhuirthead
A metamorphic rock formed under high pressure and high temperature tens of kilometres beneath the earth's surface.
This is amongst the oldest rocks in Ireland and may be over 1,000 million years old.
