Abacus/Ball-frame - Cuntoir
Rectangular wooden frame, 19" x 19" on a wooden stand. Total length, 48". Within the wooden frame there are 12 rows of 12 coloured, wooden balls strung through so that they move easily in either direction.
Functioned as a means of very young teaching children to count.
This ball frame was in use in St. Louis Primary School from early 20th century until 1950s.
