Creel - Criol
A creel is a square type basket made from sally rods grown locally for the purpose.
It was used to carry heavy loads of turf, seaweed and potatoes on the donkey's back. In olden times the creel was carried across the shoulders on a man's or woman's back.
Made by Pat Shevlin at a craft day in the centre.
